Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. ahum.....let's start with a geographical correction... it wasn't Normandy but Nord-Pas-de-Calais...

with everything been called 'it happened' in Normandy we get .... confused...

I've got 775 new pics on my HD now from bunkers, small to huge, V1 & V2 bunkers, cemeteries, memorials, musea and more....

will upoload them on a regular base, lots of work to do !

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nord-Pas-de-Calais

German occupation of France during World War II

Quote
The Nord-Pas-de-Calais region was used for Vengeance weapon installations, including extensive V-1 "ski sites" that launched attacks on England and massive bunkers for the V-2 rocket and V-3 cannon. Operation Crossbow counteroffensive bombing devastated many of the region's towns. Although most of the region was liberated in September 1944, Dunkirk was the last French town to be freed from German occupation (9 May 1945). The region's numerous war cemeteries and memorials include Canada's Vimy Memorial.
