Welcome to War and Tactics! War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. I'm playing over at WeBoB... they have a fantastic bunch of guys over there (not childish) and there is zero drama and great tournaments, opponents and discussions.
I don't play as much as I used to as I'm an assistant professor now (yeck, real job), but I can still crank out a few turns per day.
We are calling this one "fun with flamethrowers!" The last one to be ambushed, loses this one I think... and there seems to be a new ambush every turn.
Bill and I are beside ourselves laughing at every new turn... we just don't have a clue anymore as to where we are both going to get smoked from. So far, the allies (me) have been on the long end, but it seems that Germans keep popping up no matter what I do or where I attack.
Very fun, yet highly uncomfortable scenario. Keeps the butt cheeks well clenched.

You're not one who likes to follow rules given in the briefing, like the one about "NO DELAY" given three times (!) on pages 1, 3 and 4 of the briefing, eh? :'(
I just read this, and obviously DID not read the rules... lol!
Was a bad rule IMHO anyways.

Well, that is a pretty lame admission.
After 7+ years of CM, it is a bit difficult to break new ground with scenarios (not that I claim to have broken any new ground with this one!!! ). That is why some scenarios I design have "special rules." The least you can do is offer your opponent a fair game!
Lesson learned from me in the design perspective is to include a new suggestion in briefs (That is if people read them in the first place!) and that is that both players CONFIRM their understanding of any "special rules" during the set up phase. That way on turn 10 there can be no misunderstanding. I suggest this to all players of any scenario with any special rules.
I'm working on a two-battle operation now that has "play as they lay" rules and I had this incident in mind when I wrote the brief:
** Players should confirm with their opponent during the set-up phase that they understand the rules and will follow them. **

This team is made up of a unique style of gamer, taxonomied as the "CROONIE".
The croonie is a vicious beast that will rain death, destruction and donuts upon all those who stand in their way.
Croonies come in two styles: cuddly and Leto. The Leto model was deemed a production default and has been issued recall orders back to the factory.
WaW boasts a WORLD LADDER that takes as many people from around the world and across over a dozen clubs and collates individual club ladders to give a world ladder ranking overview that is very good. There are also a plethora of tournaments, tactical threads and AAR's and DAR's... but you have to join up to take advantage of all the great features. Stop by, and check us out. We will be waiting in the dark back alley portion of the website to greet you ("is that a lead pipe in your hand?"... "No it tisn't!)
I've seen the scenarios for this tournament and there isn't a Vichy French one in the mix.
Maybe if we want to promote other tournaments here at WaT that could be a theme...the Minors in reasonably balanced scenarios....something to think about for future projects.
You guys feel free to use WaT for your intersite tournaments as well. It doesn't just have to be Koen, Henk and myself that use the facilities we've put together. This is a base for the whole community that is accessible outside the normal restrictions of any particular site.

I think the philosophy of this tournament is such that:
1) it should be focused on connecting gamers from the many different clubs together 2) it should keep the people who can't play CMBB playing by offering CMAK only if we have to (until a driver fix arrives). 3) winning should be secondary to playing great scenarios
That being said: I hope that we allow the players who signed up late to take the places of those who cannot proceed, that those that cannot finish by wednesday to allow their scores to be counted (if possible) when (and if) they finish, and I believe that everybody in the tournament should buy the world a Coke, and live in harmony.
Second, I think that there should be a scenario created that allows me to play the VICHY FRENCH. I so very much want to play the evhul frogs and beat the crap out of the yanks, that my teeth ache. My kingdom for a good scenario in this vein.
Third, I would recommend that every person that enters this tournament PROVIDE FEEDBACK TO THE DESIGNER. This tournament is being put together by hard working designers that do not ask for anything but people to appreciate their work, and help them make it better. A few kudos and high fives to them would not be out of the order either .
Lastly, I would love to see Steve in a Mohawk. I think that awful pile of cabbage that he calls a hairdo needs to go, and that if there was anyone who needed to get the funk out, it would be Steve. I would also accept dreadlocks,
