Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. I like the size of Forgotton ground...its only 34+ turns long....and there are really not that many units...I did my setup in about an hour. Its refreshing to have a real sized battle for a change.

yes, east and west of town...a good deal wider for armor flanking

nice map...could it be wider?

Armor in the streets looks good...get rid of the rivers....3 times as wide and 2 -3 times as long.

yes, with a map large enough that armor flanking is possible, also with infantry in town supported by Priests and Sig's and numerous support weapons...maybe some of that excellent allied air support with heavy bombing capabilities.

Koen and I are up to turn 15 in the "Beast"....you better have a fast computer for this one as it is truely huge....compile times keep going up and up... so far the scenario feels like the scenes in the movie.."Cross of Iron". My tank riding infantry are overunning the stubborn German defenders..racing to interdict as many supply roads as possible in order to isolate the German defenders from their expected heavy reinforcements. The scenario thus far imparts a sense of urgency that is palpable....and very exciting. I have no complaints as of yet...except that maybe I am a little lazy and find moving many trucks full of infanty along twisty roads a lot like work. But when you get it right ...the movement of tanks and trucks is a thing of beauty.

I was kind of thinking...that instead of "Bocage" terrain...something like 1945, Combined terrain, gives a dry dusty base, heavy trees, gives enough room for armor movement, large town, gives something to fight for, 5-7 large flags, gives points to justify losses, gentle hills, medium damage. On the face of it...American armor would be the cheap, fast M18...versus the expense and heavy armor of the German Panther. Infantry wise, engineer battalions on both sides would be correct for the town enviroment.
