Welcome to War and Tactics! War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. Ive known about this since I was in Kosovo in 2000-01. Its how the video picture is transmitted, which often uses systems that arent secure.
The carrier isnt always military an there are a few stories that guys that were hunted in Kosovo, Bosnia that got away because they were tipped of through live feeds.
Actually I dont think their aim is to get back to the Stone Age, maybe just the 14th century. Should we be in the business of telling other sovereign nations whats right and wrong in their own country? This region of pakistan has always been the wild west, a hundred years ago we brits were fighting the very same tribesmen. No doubt, a hundred years from now the Chinese or Indians will be fighting the same guys.
To be honest, this is probably just a tragic blip. After all, the UK government could do absolutely anything it wants to and claim it as the war on Terror. Who would support the Irish Republican terrorists then?
People like Gerry Adams know this all too well and Im sure they are secretly working towards getting the criminals that did it.
Its particularly galling for me as Ive spent some time in NI through the years and really though this was over. After all, we are all bloody supposed to be Europeans now and economically, Eire is in a worse state than the UK!
In my experience two things happen when you throw a grenade.
1. It goes off
2. Its a blind.
Now, option 2 can happen more often than you think. Throwing a grenade which doesnt go off on a range, immediately stops play. You wait for a period of time before doing anything (occasionally it will go off on its own, so you wait a while past the mean time of it blowing up).
What happens next is that someone then goes out and attaches a small charge to the grenade, then blows it up.
Now, the explosive is what makes it blow. Kinetic energy from a bullet, may or may not serve the same purpose, I would guess that depending on the size of the round fired it may either split apart or just possibly explode, but all depends on range, mass and the energy expanded. Shoot it from 2 feet and you may be surprised!
Im on Letos side here in a way, I lost this one too BTW. No offence to the designer as he designs a lot of good stuff, but this scenario should probably not have been entered in a Tourney of this nature as its just too random. I would probably have enjoyed it more as a bit of a fun scenario but leaving so much to chance in Tourney play was, I think, the wrong decision.
Sorry for being blunt but as has been said, this is a straight race, first one there should win the match.
After several start stops to this game, i find that I am totally put of by the order and reaction phase. They really need to sort this out before it can become a popular game.
The whole thing just seems so clunky to me.
CM still has the advantage and CMSF plays better too, the next CM ww2 game will definitely play better than this as well.
Its not a Turkey though, and you can have fun with it, but for me its one of those games that you come back to every few weeks, play a bit and then move on. At least it plays in Vista though.
I suppose if you were sitting on a great homely Island 12000 years ago and the Ice Age ended youd be seriously worried about global Warming, especially if your island started to disappear.
I suppose if you were a mammoth youd be pretty pissed off too.
So the Earths climate changes, been true for millions of years, have humans added to this, undoubtedly. Is it hughely significant in Earth terms, probably not. We wouldnt be here is the global climate hadnt changed. Millions of years ago small animals bi products polluted the atmosphere with oxygen.
The history of the planet shows that life goes on and that no animal lasts for ever, he only problem is that those animals didnt know it and we do.
This team is made up of a unique style of gamer, taxonomied as the "CROONIE".
The croonie is a vicious beast that will rain death, destruction and donuts upon all those who stand in their way.
Croonies come in two styles: cuddly and Leto. The Leto model was deemed a production default and has been issued recall orders back to the factory.
WaW boasts a WORLD LADDER that takes as many people from around the world and across over a dozen clubs and collates individual club ladders to give a world ladder ranking overview that is very good. There are also a plethora of tournaments, tactical threads and AAR's and DAR's... but you have to join up to take advantage of all the great features. Stop by, and check us out. We will be waiting in the dark back alley portion of the website to greet you ("is that a lead pipe in your hand?"... "No it tisn't!)
: )
Cheers!
Leto
Just noticed this, love the comments but have to add that the actual Croonie element is very small. WaW consists of some great players from around the globe but the majority come from Eastern Europe, which seems to be a haven for good CM players.
Im not against big scenarios per se, however, I feel that doing an hour plus setup just so that my opponent can see the map and comment on it will be a waste of time if the game gets binned.
Due to my Vista problem, it means using another PC or my laptop to CMBB. This means that I have to go somewhere other than my main PC to play CM.
Therefore, I really cant devote that amount of time to something that may not happen.
Im not being negative here but from my standpoint practical. I am willing to play a game of any size, but if I put the effort in I want it to go ahead.
No difference at all except historical. Grenadiers used to throw Grenades and Fusiliers used to have a weapon called the Fusil Musket (or something similar). The regiments have merely continued to have this in their title and unit insignia. Just like the 'Rifles' continue in the old Green jacket tradition.
UK infantry, unlike others tend to generalise nowadays rather than specialise, so that one tour they may be Armoured Infantry and then they may be posted to a light Infantry role. This gives every soldier a go at every aspect of soldering. Although this is not typically true with the Guards units.
Of course the British also had and continue to have both Fusiliers and Grenadiers. Just to complicate things a bit and get off the German centricness of the conversation.
One of the basic tactics of terrorists is to use civilians as shields and to get the news media to show the results.
If those living in Gaza don't want Israeli retaliation they need to stop Hamas from firing rockets from Gaza.
They know the results of that action the same as Hamas does.
Good Hunting.
MR
Not so easy though is it. Going up to heavily armed men and asking politely if they would mind awfully not firing their pesky rocket things from your street.
The bottom, line is that both sides are wrong, one for continuing to fire rockets and bomb, the other for their over the top retaliation and assumption that the Holocaust excuses all and every action they take for ever more.
Let them all get at it until just one side is left, the problem is then very much solved.
Are these flags already in the signatures as an option? If not anyone wanting to use them will have to save their chosen photo to their PC or a file uploading site for images. Then choose the update profile option and use that image or file as their signature.
