Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. Coming sunday 12 december at 21.00 Dutch time.
National Geographic broadcasts a document about our forces in Afghanistan.
Interviews with the troops, footage from patrols and our men and women working to aid the people in Afghanistan.
Directed by the man whom recently received a medal, Fred Warmer.
Knowing Fred its worth to view!

!  milbravo  salute

My heroes on TV are the guys from NCIS (I know it is just fiction and fake, I know... but one can dream, no?  Brede lach), especially Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon).

Interestingly, I only got "addicted" in the Spanish version (after having it seen in German and English), because Jethro Gibbs voice here is about one octave lower, and more what I imagine it should be sounding like to represent my ideal commander (and I see it in many versions all the time, and actually *ALL* the voices from Gibbs, over Tony, Ziva, McGee, Abby and the Doc are way better=characteristic in Spanish than in the original version, great job of the synch folks...), check it w/o listening to the content, just the voice layout:

US:
NCIS Moments #60 (External Embedding Disabled)

Spain:

(sorry, NOTHING!! on YoutTube in Spanish hdbng, but found the full versions of every chapter on MegaVideo (I chose the episode "Last Man Standing" where, after the funeral of the old director Jenny Shephard the new director takes over and chucks out the team for starters), I suggest you scroll to minute 0400 into the vid to hear the voice of Gibbs (when he orders them to get their stuff) or 0620-0850 for Gibbs, Doug and Abby: As you can see/hear she has a way more hysterical (but very Spanish "Goth") voice, and he sounds much more "commander". 11:10 for a minute then McGee /insecurity much better in his Spanish voice) and Ziva (*everybody* would want to marry that voice) in Spanish, again Gibbs sounds 100x better than in his original voice (sorry US fans).

You will have to click "Play" twice (wait for green), the start up song (Temptation by Tom Waits) has been haunting me ever since I heard that version, who would have thought Cote de Pablo, aka Zivah, can actually sing?...

FWIW,

Rattler

P.S.: Tonight we had a double episode of season 7: "Patriot Down" and "Jack Knife", where finally the past of Gibbs before his Marines Sniper assignement came out into the open, there is a scene (wont spill details) where he arrives in Mexico, on horseback, with sombrero, face scarf and a poncho (to look for Mike Franks, his ex "Jefe") to a Johnny Cash song I had not heard before but which instantly got me pinned (and I am NOT a JC fan):

AIN'T NO GRAVE (Can Hold My Body Down) Johnny Cash

Hahahahahaha,

My wife had the same problems with Dutch TV, she grew up in Germany.
It was really strange for her to hear John Wayns real voice instead of the German one Knipoog
