Title: Book: Help: Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS divisions
Post by: Koen on 5 October 2009, 19:24:07
I've been crawling on the internet for books that are accurate and historically correct on the infantry, panzer and panzergrenadier divisions from both Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS.

I want books that show me the TO&E and OOB's during WWII during the several battles and operations.

I'm not interested in stories but lists, facts and maps.

What should I buy?

some examples:

When you say you're not interested in stories are you talking about biographies? Or anything that talks about the fighting?

Good Hunting.

well, I don't like the books you get lost in, certainly when they are written in English.

I like to know who/what was where, fought against who/what and how the battle went.

Have you ever read a David Glantz book before?

Let's start there and move out from him. He's the benchmark if you've read anything by him.

Good Hunting.

Do you have the list of books you own in the section Henk started on our libraries? Might be easier to see what you already have to be able to give you a direction to move towards.

Good Hunting.

I looked at it earlier but wasn't sure if that was updated. That's why I asked. There are only a couple on that list that I recognize. Maybe some of your latest acquisitions might be some I know. We need a common point to start, where I get an idea of what you like and what you don't care for.

Good Hunting.

With Amazon selling used books on their site here in the US I rarely buy a book new any more. The information is the same in the book no matter what  you pay for the book so you might as well buy the book as cheaply as you can.

Good Hunting.
